Tasting- Cresta Azul

Name:  Cresta Azul
Varietal:  Moscatel, Macabea, Parellada, Xarel-lo
Region:  Emporda
Country:  Spain
Year:  NV
Price:  $5.95

Shop Critic:  Peach, orange cream and vanilla flavors mingle in this softly bubbly white.  Off-dry, but with crisp acidity and a clean finish.

My Review:  This wine did not have the most appealing color; pale, yellow-brown, almost straw-like.  However this wine was very intriguing.  The first smell on the nose I detected was buttery biscuits!  Then after smelling the wine a second and third time I picked up some dreamsicle and peaches.  While tasting this wine there was a sweet punch in the front of my palate followed by a breakthrough of acidity.  It was quite smooth with some hints of vanilla throughout.  Overall not a bad wine!

I drank this wine on it's own with no food pairings.
