Tasting- Veleta Brut Vino Espumoso Rosado

Name:  Veleta Brut Vino Espumoso Rosado
Varietal:  100% Tempranillo
Region:  Granada (South Central)
Country:  Spain
Year:  NV
Price:  $3.95

Shop Critic:  Rose salmon with copper reflections.  Slow rising fine bubble that forms "lace" and "rosary".  In the nose is complex and elegant with red fruit, citric, exotic, fresh flowers, and notes of dry fruits and dry flowers.  Fresh, gentle and alive.  Perfectly integrated "perlage" with serious and subtle flavors of dry fruits, pomegranate and lemonade.  Long lasting scent of flowers and herbs.

My Review:  This gorgeous wine was a pale amber, almost rusty color.  It smelled just like Welch's white grape juice.  The nose was also slightly reminiscent of the wine you get in church.  While tasting this wine the first thing to hit me was the effervescence.  Bubbles like crazy!  It had a bit of an acidic bite, but no real assertive flavors to speak of.  I have a difficult time trying to pick out the flavors in this wine behind all the bubbles.  I did detect some hints of lemon and apricots.  This wine had a very short mid palate but hit the back of my tongue with very tart beats.

I drank this wine on it's own with no food.
